GluShu is the glue on horseshoe with the easiest application process. The shoe is an aluminum horseshoe with a vulcanized rubber cuff that offers endless configurations and applications. Laminitis

Laminitis is a condition that affects the hooves causing lameness. Depending on the severity of the case it can be painful and even deadly. The laminae becomes inflamed and breaks down. This leads to pain in the hoof capsule and coronet band. The coffin bone can sometimes detach from the hoof wall and then puncture the sole of the hoof. Avoiding this outcome is the utmost goal when treating laminitis.

GluShu can help with laminitis as it elevates the foot and provides support. It accomplishes this without the additional trauma of hammering a standard horseshoe into place.

Measuring For GluShu

  1. Measure the hoof width from the widest point.
  2. Measure the length from the to buttress line.
  3. Ignore the heel bulbs when measuring.
  4. When comparing with the sizing chart and you’re unsure which size to obtain it is best to opt for the larger size.

Applying GluShu

  1. Trim the hoof. Ensuring a clean environment for the areas where Glushu will be applied is important. Utilize a fine rasp on all areas including the heels.
  2. If you are using Shufit Glue make sure the glue is dark grey prior to use.
  3. The glue needs to be warm for use and the hoof should be dry.
  4. The approach you take when applying will be dependent on the outdoor temperature and the degree of soreness of the horse.
